FACEBOOK "EVENT" CHALLENGES
1.
There
is a glitch where
the Facebook Events will not hold the time zone to the
location of the event. This means
when others are looking at it from
outside the time zone, they will see
the time in their own location. Facebook refuses to fix
this.
2. Hackers love to comment on
the Facebook Events calling for
vendors. They usually state
something like "Additional vendor
tables still available. Please
message for details." Facebook did
attempt to fix this to where one
could choose the option that only a host could
post a comment but that only worked
part of the time. Recently, the
hackers started to turn the
comment/message into a jpg or gif to
attempt to get around the
algorithm.
So, in order to protect our events
and my sanity, I am no longer
creating and posting
Facebook Events. Separate detailed
posts are added to the DollShowUSA.com timeline with
additional photos at the time the
received listing submission is
posted on the website. Those posts will
be "boosted" about 7-10 days before
the event (5 days for $5 fee
included with the deluxe listings).
I will continue to
post/pin an event calendar on
Facebook with a link to the state event page
of the website as well as a link to the
full
DollShowUSA.com calendar.
